Trigenics is a neuro-kinetic and myofascial assessment, treatment, and training system that combines manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and neurology to improve muscle function and alleviate pain.
What is Trigenics?
Trigenics is a non-surgical, holistic approach to health and wellness that combines manual muscle therapy, neurological stimulation, and exercise to improve:
- Mobility
- Strength
- Overall physical function
The goal is to optimize the operation of the nervous system and muscles, leading to better movement patterns and reduced pain. Trigenics was developed by Dr. Allan Oolo Austin, an Estonian-Canadian chiropractor and neurologist, in the early 1990s.
Dr. Austin was inspired by his experience recovering from a severe injury and his subsequent research into the relationship between the nervous system and muscle function. He combined his knowledge of manual muscle therapy and neurological stimulation to create the Trigenics system.
Healthcare professionals worldwide have since used Trigenics to treat various conditions, including sports injuries, chronic pain, and neurological disorders. The system has also been integrated into other healthcare modalities, such as physiotherapy and chiropractic care.
